We did it! Whiteley retains Silver IIP status

3rd March 2021

The Trust was recently assessed by Investors in People (IIP) and we’re thrilled to announce that we have retained our `We invest in people Silver accreditation`!  This is a great achievement for our charity as only 15% of organisations achieve Silver.

Katherine Sargent, Director of People said: “We are all absolutely delighted with our IIP result and would like to say a huge thank you to all those staff who participated. Being awarded Silver status is something we should all be proud of, and especially now considering the huge challenges and changes faced by colleagues over the past year.

“85% of our employees participated, either via the survey or an interview. This is a really impressive response rate and it makes our results and the feedback more meaningful. We will now review the detail of the report and establish what actions we can take to further improve and will be sharing the feedback and action plan with colleagues soon.

“The Leadership Team are grateful to each and every member of the Whiteley staff team.  Their loyalty, hard work and flexibility is a huge part of our success and we couldn’t do it without them.”

An organisation’s people are its most valuable commodity. Central to success (irrespective of size or sector) is the right blend of talent, motivation and leadership. Investors in People assessed how well we were doing at leading and supporting our staff, compared to other similar organisations. This accreditation means they believe we have the right principles in place.

So why does the IIP assessment matter? The process is important because organisations that lead, support and develop their workforce effectively are proven to be more successful. So, getting expert advice and support about how we’re investing in our people is not only the right thing to do, it’s proven to be essential in delivering sustainable results, especially in a crisis – as we’ve seen over the last year. It will also help us continue recruiting high calibre staff which in turn helps us continue delivering excellent quality housing, care and support services to those living at Whiteley Village.
