In Touch: October

8th October 2020

Many residents enjoyed our Whiteley Village adult colouring book specially commissioned as this year’s Founder’s Day Gift to residents and featured in this month’s In Touch newsletter The book contains some beautiful pictures of Whiteley Village created from photos taken of the Village by staff and residents. Mary Baldock, one of our villagers (seen here) said: “I really enjoyed colouring in this picture and wanted to share it with you. I started it one evening and before I knew it, it was nearly midnight!

Whiteley Homes Trust Chief Executive, Rachel Hill said: “In recent years and especially during the pandemic, adult colouring books have been hugely popular. I’ve previously read about research that has shown the therapeutic effects of colouring on mental health and wellbeing for adults of all ages; helping reduce anxiety and stress as well as exercising the brain and improving focus. It’s also important to make space in your day to do something for yourself. So we wanted this year’s Founder’s Day gift to be something that would not only be enjoyed but be useful too in these difficult times – especially now the weather is on the change and the evenings are drawing in.”

For anyone who would like to buy a copy of the Whiteley Village adult colouring book, copies are available for a suggested minimum donation of £5 (including coloured pencils and post and packaging). Payment can be made via the Whiteley Homes Trust Never Alone Appeal

Once payment has been made please email your postal address to: claire.atkins@whiteleyvillage.org.uk
