In Touch: November
12th November 2020
In November’s edition of In Touch we lead on this year’s Remembrance Service at Whiteley Village which like thousands of other commemorative events around the country had to be held remotely. Thanks to the technology, residents who had to stay at home were at least able to come together to pay their respects online. We also feature the lovely story of Beryl and Alan Brimble who recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary – an amazing achievement which has not only included living through a global pandemic but also a lucky escape from an IRA bomb! When asked about the impact of Covid, Korean War veteran Alan said: “You know our generation lived through the war so you learn to go without things and not always being able to do what you want when you want. You learn to get on with it, and we have. So we’re Ok but yes I will be glad when it’s all over!” Everyone will certainly agree with that!
