In this month’s edition of In Touch, our Chief Executive, Rachel Hill reviews the progress the Trust has made on the priorities that were set out to our residents at the end of 2019. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, she notes the important successes delivered last year, such as having one of the best local records for Covid-19 safety both in our care homes as well as amongst cottage residents – with two excellent interim CQC reports on infection control and management. Rachel congratulates staff on their hard work and commitment in helping the Trust drive down costs and improve its financial position last year, in spite of significant income loss due to Covid-19. She also notes the importance of a major new survey completed during 2020 of all Whiteley’s housing stock and other buildings which will help the Trust plan and finance its maintenance programme over the next 20 years and ensure our accommodation continues to be fit for purpose for residents in the years to come.
