Retirement Living in Whiteley Village

We think that Whiteley Village is unique in the true sense of the word. The people who live here think that too. Retirement means different things to different people but without doubt the Villagers here confirm that their lives in the Village have taken on a “whole new meaning” since they arrived.

Most people will start their life in Whiteley Village in one of our 272 Grade II listed Arts and Crafts cottages. Built around an octagon shape, they form the heart of the village and are close to all our amenities.

Cottages have views over the communal gardens and parkland or the woods, and have their own small garden.  193 cottages are designated for single occupancy and 79 for double occupancy.  The majority have been recently refurbished to provide excellent, centrally-heated, accommodation consisting of one or two bedrooms and a spacious sitting room, a kitchen specifically designed to meet the neeeds of our elderly residents, and a fully adapted shower and toilet.  A project is in progress to complete the modernisation. All cottages have smoke alarms.

Many residents find it comforting to know that should the time come when they are unable to look after themselves independently, they can apply to move into Huntley House, our extra-care facility where people live in 50 self-contained apartments, or into our 114-bed Care Centre.
