The Welfare Fund has existed for many years and has evolved over this time. It is run by the Villagers for the Villagers, but funds are lodged with the Accounts Department for safe keeping.
The Village Fayre and the Charity Shop, also run by the Villagers, provide the main sources of income, although various other events contribute to the Fund. It provides support to many aspects of the Village, including the Care Centre, Huntley House, the Library, the various Social Clubs and activities, and indeed anything which can add to the welfare of Villagers.
The Fund is monitored by a treasurer and monies may be accessed after approval by the Whiteley Village Association (formed from the heads of each club and society) and the Whiteley Village Representative’s Committee.
